The Together 4 All programme for Schools has 2 dimensions: Dimension 1 is a universal intervention, and Dimension 2 is a targeted Intervention.
Dimension 1: Universal Intervention
Together 4 All adapted an international, evidence based-early intervention programme (PATHS) and integrated it with lessons in mutual respect and understanding. This was achieved through close collaboration with teachers and a lecturer from Stranmillis College.
The programme meets with the requirements set by the Department of Education and ensures long-term results for children and young people through resources, support, training and ongoing mentoring for teachers.
The aim of this integrated approach is to focus improvements in behaviour, mutual respect and understanding, whilst striving to achieve a marked reduction in bullying. In turn, this will cultivate improved teacher-pupil relations, pupil-pupil relations and increased attainment levels across the curriculum.
Working alongside the Department of Education, Together 4 All aims to roll out the model to primary schools outside the current area. We see it as our duty, to those individuals with whom we work, to drive a strategically targeted programme that not only delivers results within the local community but also holds global relevance for international adaptation. This will be achieved through rigorous evaluation using RCT's and evaluators experienced in Prevention Science and measurements.
Dimension 2: Targeted Intervention
This is an additional component of the Together 4 All Programme for Schools. The aim is to design an early prevention service for children who are identified as being more likely to experience conduct problems/disorders. The service will include school-based screening, Family Check-Up program, and enhanced access to external support services.
